"What is Pokemon?" one might ask, and I am here to provide an exquisite explination. Pokemon first started out as a game series in 1996 with its first titles being Pokemon Red and Pokemon Green on the Game Boy. In this game you would catch these little monster guys called "Pokemon" in these little capsules and challenge other trainers to battles and see who comes out the strongest. These games became so popular that they began to make more and more games, which eventually turned into the production of many anime series as well as a trading card game called Pokemon TCG in which you were also allowed to battle with as well as trade and collect your favorite pokemon in the form of cards. I'm not really sure how else to explain the wonderful world of Pokemon over such a long period of time or at all, but I am and have been a huge fan of it for basically all of my life. The Pokemon franchise as a whole has gathered over $150 billion over almost 30 years, making it the largest media franchise of all time.
"Why did you chose Pokemon as the topic of this splendid website?" I'm so glad you asked. Like I mentioned in the last extremely long paragraph, Pokemon has played an enourmous role in my life since before I can even remember, my brother was who got me into Pokemon from the very start, he always rewatched the animes and collected the little burger king toys and played the games a bit too. I was basically surrounded by it since I was born because of him. For a while I had only ever watched the anime and hadn't engaged in the games or anything until I was about 7 years old when I discovered the magic of Pokemon Channel on the Game Cube. I'm not going to go into that because I'm going to make this far longer than it needs to be but it is quite a fantastic game, top 10 games ever for me. My favorite Pokemon since I was about 5-6 years old has been Psyduck, I always felt such a strong connection to the funny little duck and felt we shared so many things in common and I loved him in so many different ways, over my life I have collected probably close to 30 psyduck things (mostly handmade) and continue to watch the collection grow over 10 years later.
What is this? You want me to explain some of the awesome sauce anime to you?!! Of course I can heheh. So the first anime, Pokemon Indigo League, starts off introducing a young boy named Ash Ketchum, a boy from Pallet town in the Kanto region who has the goal of becoming the very best like no one ever was. To catch them is his real test and to train them is his cause. He wants to battle across the land, searching far and wide and teach pokemon to understand the power that's inside. Haha get it? Because theme song?! I'm so funny. First day he over sleeps and when arriving to Professor Oak, he is informed that all the starter pokemon were already claimed by people who were on time because he slept in late, leaving him with one extra pokemon the professor just so happened to have lying around, Pikachu. With his new partner pokemon, Ash travels around the world meeting new friends and pokemon to accompany him on his journey and all that. It's so very cool.
"Man Lili, all this talk about Pokemon but I still have no clue who this dashing fellow is on your website, what's up with him?" Just full of questions, aren't we? Never fear, for I shall tell you all about him. This kind gentleman is Natural Harmonia Gropius, commonly known as N, who was the former king of Team Plasma in the game series Pokemon Black and White on the Ds which is insanely overpriced and I hate it but anyways he is the only one ever able to truely communicate and understand pokemon and their feelings and felt battling and keeping pokemon trapped in pokeballs is a crime and they shouldn't have to go through such pain just for pure entertainment of trainers to solve silly disputes and such. He then realizes that trainers, most anyways, have a deep connection/bond with their partner pokemon and sees the love between the two is genuine and turned out that his adoptive father, Gh3t!s, had manipulated him into believing that all humans were terrible for their treatment towards pokemon and becomes a good guy, huzzah!! "Wow, he's so epic!" Heh, he is quite splendid, isn't he?.
